Captivate Education is a small Australian company that builds assessment software for both sides of the desk: Your Assess Hub for the people who write and mark the paper, Captivate Exam Hub for the students who sit it, and a set of free classroom tools anyone can use today.
Jason has spent more than twenty-five years teaching in Australian secondary schools, most of it in senior classrooms where the marking never stops and every assessment has to trace back to a study design or syllabus. Alongside teaching he has worked in IT and cyber security, which is where the habit of asking “what does the data actually say?” comes from.
Captivate Education started as a set of spreadsheets for his own classes: a rubric that graded itself, a grade calculator students could use before parent-teacher night, and a way to see which dot points a class had not yet mastered. The products on this site are those spreadsheets, rebuilt properly, and opened up to everyone.
Everything published here is written or checked by him. There is no content farm, no invented testimonial and no statistic we cannot point to a source for. If something is wrong, tell us and it will be fixed.
